In 2000, Carlos De Andrade was invited by Olivia Hime and Kati Almeida Braga to take part in the creation of the record label Biscoito Fino and the largest music archive restoration project ever carried out in Brazil. That same year, he directed ABPD – the Brazilian Association of Record Producers (now called Pró Música), which brings together the major record labels, such as Universal, Sony, Warner, Som Livre, among others.

In 2002, Carlos De Andrade helped found ABMI – the Brazilian Independent Music Association – which unites the country’s leading independent record labels, including Biscoito Fino, Tratore, Mills, and Visom. He served as its president in 2006 and, in 2007, spearheaded Feira Música Brasil in Recife, the largest music fair in the Southern Hemisphere, which brought together thousands of music producers from around the world. From 2006 to 2013, he actively worked with the Brazilian Congress to pass the “PEC da Música,” a constitutional amendment that granted tax exemption to Brazilian music. Today, he is part of the Music Business training program at Fundação Getúlio Vargas (FGV).
