He graduated in Cinema from Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). He worked on more than 100 feature films as assistant director for Paulo César Saraceni, Murilo Salles, Daniel Filho, Tizuka Yamasaki, René Sampaio, Marcos Paulo, Ro-sane Svartzman, among many other renowned filmmakers. He directed 13 short films, receiving more than 85 awards at Brazilian and international festivals. Among the awards, the highlight was Best Fiction Short in 2015 for “Flerte”, at the Brazilian Cinema Academy Grand Prix.

On TV, he co-directed the series “Sexo e as negas” and “Pé na cova”, on TV Globo, “Por isso eu sou vingativa”, on Multishow, and “A dona da banca”, on Cine Canal Tv Brasil.

He was assistant director of “Veneza” and “Querido mundo” by Miguel Falabella; and “Dois mais dois”, by Marcelo Saback.

In 2018 and 2023, he was part of the Oscar committee to choose the Brazilian film that will represent the country.
