GENERAL RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Participation in RioMarket 2026 will be granted via tickets issued through Sympla, available soon.
*ALL ACTIVITIES ARE SUBJECT TO ROOM CAPACITY (both paid and free sessions).
Participation in the Business Meetings (Rodadas de Negócios) is guaranteed upon payment of a fee and confirmation/acceptance of meetings by the players. For further details, please refer to the specific regulations (here).
1.1. Registrations must be completed on the RioMarket website using the Sympla link.
1.2. RioMarket registration does not grant access to film screenings at Festival do Rio 2026.
1.3. RioMarket registration is non-transferable and issued in the participant's name only.
2. RioMarket comprises several activities, each with its own participation requirements:
(i) **RioSeminars** – These seminars promote debates and discussions on the most current topics in the audiovisual industry, introducing new technologies and market trends through masterclasses, panels, and talks with renowned entertainment and audiovisual professionals from around the world. Access is subject to room capacity.
(ii) **Workshops** – Workshops feature renowned industry professionals presenting and sharing their expertise and the latest developments in their fields. Registered participants are requested to arrive at the workshop venue at least 15 minutes in advance. Access is subject to room capacity.
(iii) **Round Tables** – An activity tailored for industry professionals, creating an opportunity for dialogue and information exchange with invited guests. It serves as a dedicated space to discuss specific and highly relevant topics for the audiovisual industry. Round Tables are closed sessions for invited guests only.
(iv) **Business Meetings (Rodadas de Negócios)** – The Business Meetings facilitate encounters between producers and leading audiovisual industry executives interested in new business. These sessions offer high-impact networking and information exchange among national and international producers, distributors, programmers, and streaming platforms across cinema, television, and digital media. They represent a prime opportunity for producers to pitch their projects to professionals seeking acquisitions, distribution, licensing, and co-productions. Participation in the Business Meetings is granted upon payment of a fee and acceptance of meetings by the players. For more information, see the specific regulations.
(v) **RioMarket Jovem** – RioMarket Jovem represents the contribution of leading audiovisual experts toward training new generations of professionals across multiple disciplines. Throughout the event, youth from diverse backgrounds attend workshops ranging from Screenwriting and Directing to Entrepreneurship and Artificial Intelligence.
2.1. All seat reservations must be registered in advance on the RioMarket website.
2.2. For activities requiring advance seat reservation, an on-site standby queue may be formed based on demand. At the scheduled start time of the activity, any remaining available seats may be filled by attendees in the standby queue on a first-come, first-served basis.
3. All RioMarket events will take place at the Festival do Rio and RioMarket Headquarters (Armazém da Utopia – Orla Conde – Armazém 6, Cais do Porto, in front of the Utopia VLT Light Rail Station, Rio de Janeiro – RJ).
4. All attendees must pick up their badges/credentials prior to participating in any activities of interest at the Festival do Rio Headquarters (Armazém da Utopia – Orla Conde – Armazém 6, Cais do Porto, in front of the Utopia VLT Light Rail Station, Rio de Janeiro – RJ). Badges will be available for pickup from October 1 to October 10, 2026, between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
5. The complete and updated event schedule will be available on the RioMarket website.
6. By registering for RioSeminars, Workshops, RioMarket Jovem, or Business Meetings, participants authorize Festival do Rio to use their voice, likeness, and image captured during all event activities, for an indefinite period, across any broadcast, recording, or distribution platforms.
7. Workshops and courses may be subject to additional fees as determined by the production team.
**Business Meetings Rules & Regulations 2026
Registration via Sympla.
October 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9
1. RioMarket will take place from October 1 to 10, 2026, with the Business Meetings scheduled for October 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9, from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM (Brasília Time / BRT).
2. The Business Meetings will be held at RioMarket’s main venue (Address: Orla Conde – Armazém 6, Cais do Porto, Rio de Janeiro).
3. Only legally established and duly registered corporate entities (legal entities) may apply to participate in the Business Meetings.
4. Registration for the Business Meetings allows the participant to submit their project(s) to the selection process for meetings with players. Registration does not guarantee the selection of the project or the scheduling of any meeting, which remains subject to the interest and availability of the players.
5. Meetings will last a maximum of 20 minutes and will be scheduled in advance according to each player’s availability.
6. When a player participates remotely, the participant must be physically present at the Business Meetings rooms, where the meeting will be conducted via videoconference using computers provided by RioMarket. Online participation is exclusively reserved for the players.
7. Except for the computers provided for the remote meetings mentioned above, RioMarket will not provide presentation equipment or materials, other than standard power outlets. Participants are entirely responsible for bringing any materials they wish to use, such as laptops, tablets, or printed documents.
8. Only participants who have paid the registration fee, finalized their submission, been selected by a player, and received a confirmed schedule will be allowed to attend the meetings. A maximum of 2 (two) representatives per company is permitted in each meeting.
9. The list of invited players and their profiles of interest will be available on the Business Meetings page on the RioMarket website.
10. Completing the Project Form (Ficha de Projeto) in full is mandatory, including the title, format, genre, director, production company, project status, budget, synopsis, character profiles, episode descriptions (for serialized works), treatment/argument (if applicable), and any other requested information. Once submitted, the form cannot be edited, nor can supplementary materials be sent.
10.1. Accepted projects may be at any of the following production stages: development, financing, pre-production, production, post-production, finishing, distribution, or other;
10.2. Projects may be fiction or non-fiction;
10.3. Accepted formats include short films, medium-length films, feature films, series/serialized content, interprogram segments, variety shows, reality shows, game shows, talk shows, linear television programming, and others;
10.4. Project genres may include action, biography, crime, psychodrama, documentary, animation, sports, dramedy, fantasy, suspense, thriller, children/youth, adventure, comedy, mystery, romantic comedy, musical, docudrama, drama, family, sci-fi, horror, romance, and others.
11. Registration consists of two steps: (a) payment via the Sympla platform using the link provided on the RioMarket website; and (b) completing the Project Form, delivered via email after payment confirmation.
12. The Business Meetings offer two registration tiers: R$ 250.00 (two hundred and fifty reais) for the submission of 1 (one) project, and R$ 400.00 (four hundred reais) for the submission of up to 2 (two) projects. If submitting two projects, a separate Project Form must be completed for each one.
12.1. Registration fee payment must be made exclusively through the Sympla platform.
12.2. Sympla will add its service fee to the total purchase amount.
13. The order number generated upon completing the purchase on Sympla must be entered in the Project Form to validate participation in the RioMarket 2026 Business Meetings selection process.
13.1. The Project Form will be automatically sent by email once the Sympla transaction is complete. Participants should also check their spam folder. If the email is not received, the participant must contact the Business Meetings team.
14. The Sympla order number may only be reused in the following cases:
14.1. Partner institutions, supporters, and sponsors, as instructed by the production team;
14.2. Special offers and promotional packages, such as the 2 (two) project package.
15. Only the first Project Form submitted with a reused order number will be accepted; subsequent submissions will be disregarded, except in the cases outlined in Item 14.
16. Order numbers will be verified against the Sympla database. If the order number provided in the Project Form does not match a valid transaction, the registration will be canceled.
17. There is no limit on the number of projects a participant may submit. To register more than two projects, a new registration fee must be paid and a new Project Form must be submitted with the corresponding new order number.
18. All information required for project evaluation must be included directly in the Project Form. No additional materials will be accepted for the selection process. If desired, participants may bring supporting materials on the day of the meeting.
19. Participants are advised to arrive at the venue well in advance of their first meeting to complete accreditation and account for potential schedule adjustments. Participants may only enter the Business Meetings room and check in with the event staff after receiving their credentials.
20. All participants must pick up their badges at the RioMarket accreditation desk, located at the venue, prior to attending their first meeting.
21. Badges will be available for pickup starting October 1, 2026.
22. Project submissions will be accepted until 6:00 PM (BRT) on September 15, 2026.
22.1. Registration is only validated once the Project Form has been submitted.
22.2. The Project Form must be completed and submitted prior to the registration deadline.
23. Payment without the completion and submission of the Project Form does not validate registration.
23.1. RioMarket and Festival do Rio will not issue refunds for uncompleted forms or forms submitted after the deadline.
24. Registration is considered complete only after the participant receives an automated confirmation email following the submission of the Project Form.
25. Incomplete submissions, forms with conflicting information, or applications that fail to comply with these Regulations will not be accepted.
26. All submitted projects will be forwarded to players based on their stated profiles of interest. The selection of projects and scheduling of meetings is carried out exclusively by the players.
26.1. The participant acknowledges that their project may not be selected for any meetings, and no refund of the registration fee will be issued in such cases.
27. Once the players confirm their project selections, an email will be sent to the contact address provided in the Project Form containing the exact date and time of each meeting. Participants should also monitor their spam folders.
27.1. Time slots are determined solely by the organization based on player availability and the overall schedule. Requests to choose, change, or reschedule meeting times will not be accepted.
27.2. Morning sessions run from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, and afternoon sessions run from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM.
28. In the event of participant delay, meeting times will not be extended to avoid disrupting subsequent sessions. If unable to attend, the participant must notify the organization as far in advance as possible. Absence or tardiness does not entitle the participant to a rescheduled meeting.
28.1. If a player is delayed, absent, or cancels, the organization will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the meeting within the player’s and event’s availability, with no guarantee of rescheduling or replacement.
28.2. The organization reserves the right to adjust schedules and meeting timetables due to operational requirements, including delays, cancellations, or changes in player availability.
29. Participants wishing to pitch to advertising agencies must select this option on the Project Form and describe the proposed product placement actions. The date and time will be announced upon project selection.
30. Participants wishing to be considered for meetings with international players must select this option on the Project Form and complete the following fields in English: Synopsis, Logline, Treatment/Argument, Character Profiles, Number and Duration of Episodes (for series), Episode Descriptions (for series), and Project Notes.
31. RioMarket and Festival do Rio reserve the right to assign different badge categories to partners according to criteria established by the organization.
32. Registration fees may vary by ticket batch, and discounts or promotional offers may be introduced at the organizers' discretion.
33. The Business Meetings team will contact all registered participants by [DATE TO BE DETERMINED]. Selected participants will receive their meeting schedules by email, while participants whose projects were not selected will receive an email notifying them of the outcome.
34. Announcements and official updates regarding the Business Meetings will be published on the website, shared via social media, and/or sent by email.
34.1. It is the participant’s responsibility to regularly check the email address registered during submission, including spam and junk folders, for selection results, schedules, and potential updates.
35. Participation in the Business Meetings grants access to the RioMarket general program exclusively on the day(s) of the participant's scheduled meeting(s). To attend on other days, a separate ticket must be purchased.
36. By completing the registration, the participant confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Regulations and to all rules governing the RioMarket 2026 Business Meetings.
